so I feel guilty for not going out and helping the sandbagging effort going on in Des Moines last night. I did do quite a bit when I was young during the 1993 fiasco-- Bill Clinton was even there. I handed out beer to all the Guardsmen with the tanks of potable water. We were without running water for 11 days then. Hopefully it won't get that bad. I do have to say I hate every Lowe's and Home Depot commercial right now. Home improvements and repairs (esp. the happy guy after Katrina -- they don't show him crying, like I'm sure he did) are not as wonderful as they make them seem. They suck. All this rain and water in my basement sucks. The neighbor who hasn't taken care of the tree hanging over my driveway in 3 weeks sucks. I should just be posting on Craigslist Rant & Raves, but they suck too. Its a lot about racism and how some extreme radical guy believes Des Moines deserves to be flooded because we're evil. In some ideal situation couldn't we somehow pump all this water to some drought-stricken area???? On the bright side my garden looks lovely.
